Haversack is a unique client. They don’t have any direct competitors because what they do with logistics is a rethinking of the existing shipping provider model. When they approached me for a motion piece they wanted to make sure their clients knew they weren’t just getting another platform to control order flow, but a partner that works with them and meets challenges head-on. All this started with the manifesto.
Concepting
Haversack was a near blank slate at the start of our engagement. The goal was to take a brand that until that point had been entirely black and white and evolve that into a visual style that could hold up in motion and uniquely communicate Haversack’s difference to its customers. Early on we brought in the cobalt blue to help give the brand a bit more range to work with and played around with a few styles before arriving in this gradient-filled stroke-lead style.
Bringing it to Life
Creation of assets for the video spanned across Blender and After Effects. After Effects didn’t have the level of quality and control needed for some of the linework illustrations so turned to Blender’s Freestyle Renderer to help compliment the motion work already being built in After Effects.
