Launching the Flex II
Bose had a simple ask: Help us launch the SoundLink Flex Gen II. The SL Flex Gen II was packed with improvements and new features that Bose wanted to highlight in a new launch film. I worked to bring a key brand element, the Bose “energy lines”, into a new dimension with 3D tracked energy ribbons into newly shot Flex footage. I also acted as lead editor on the film.
Storyboarding
Originally we presented three unique concepts before settling on the concept of the energy ribbons. Here are a few of the early boards we created to help the client visualize this concept.
The VFX Process
This edit featured a total of seven VFX shots with energy ribbons and a complete 3D scene with two speakers. The workflow involved tracking in After Effects followed by 3D work in Blender and finally finishing back in After Effects with additional composite and color correction.
